An early star of West Coast soccer, in several states, beginning in 1910, and the secretary of the Washington state soccer association for decades.
Kempton also served as junior commissioner and as a soccer correspondent for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Kempton was born in Northern Ireland and came to America at the age of 20 in 1910. He immediately began playing for Los Angeles Rangers, and then moved to San Francisco, where he played for Thistles and Celtic. He moved to Seattle in 1916 and played for various teams in the Pacific Northwest until 1934.
