The PSA was started in 1998 with four teams from the defunct Continental Indoor Soccer League. These included Arizona Thunder, Dallas Sidekicks, Portland Pythons (Formerly the Portland Pride), and the Sacramento Knights. 1998 League Standings Int'l Overall G W L PCT. After the season, the PSA granted franchises to the Houston Hotshots, and Monterrey La Raza. Finally, they reached a merger agreement with the English Indoor Football League (which later fell apart), reconstituting themselves as the World Indoor Soccer League (WISL).
