A leading administrator in both Texas and national soccer for many decades.
Aimi’s leading role was an chairman of the Texas State Soccer Association from 1972 to 2000, a period during which that association grew from two leagues to 20 and became the second largest state association in the country. He twice was elected vice president of the U.S. Soccer Federation, in 1982 and again in 1988.
From the 1970s to the 1990s, Aimi also filled a number of other significant positions in Texas and with the USSF. He served as a member of the National Referee Committee of the USSF, as chairman of the Senior Division of the USSF, as administrator of the USSF’s National Under-23 Player Development Program, as chairman of the USSF Amateur Divison and as president of the Houston District Junior Soccer Association.
